The organizer within the lower pocket is sufficient for me, with slots for three pens/pencils plus another four smaller pockets for erasers, wallet, phone, keys, whatever, and then one big zippered pocket.In other reviews of Timbuk2 bags I'd read about there being some weird foam roller thing in the bottom of the laptop compartment which made it so that your laptop would have to go in the pocket in a certain way or else it would be uncomfortable. Fortunately this design is absent from the Amnesia bag, and I've been able to throw my 13" laptop in there any which way and it is always perfect, even when biking. The smaller top pocket is padded so you could also put your cell phone or other electronics in there without worrying about it getting scratched up.
